School Holiday Activities -
Bubblemaker
Kid's Dives
Come to Blue Planet Aquarium if you fancy trying the experience of really diving - with our famous sand tiger sharks close by!
For children aged 8-14
Advanced booking is essential to avoid disappointment.
Your Bubblemaker session of around 45 minutes with our PADI qualified dive instructors will take you through the skills you need to get you started in diving.
The session will begin with the pre-dive briefing. This will consist of an introduction and explanation of the use of mask, fins, Buoyancy Control Device (BCD), regulator and pressure gauge. Breathing rules and equalisation techniques will be taught as well as a description of the skills to be completed during the Bubblemaker session.
Once kitted up in your dive gear, you will enter the pool and the skills session will begin. Breathing techniques will be practiced before you are lowered to the bottom of the pool. On completion of your skills training there will be an opportunity to play some underwater games.
- We will provide the scuba equipment - all you need is your towel and bathing costume!
- On successful completion you will be awarded your Bubblemaker Diver Certificate.
- You do not have to be a super swimmer to enjoy the Bubblemaker experience since the maximum depth is only 2m/6 ft, but you do need to be confident in the water.
- Participants must be accompanied by a full paying adult/guardian (normal entrance prices apply) and a PADI Bubblemaker statement must be completed. Please note that due to Health and Safety regulations only one adult per child may spectate the experience.
- Courses are run during school holidays. For only £30, you can discover what it is like to be a real Deep Sea Diver!
- Sessions begin at 12pm.
